Modern Disease's.

How many of the diseases that surround us today have been caused by changes in our diet, or modification of our environment?
Altzhiemers for example, it was almost unheard of until the last 30-40 years. Granted, it was known as something else, but how many people older than 50 had seen anything like it when they were growing up??? Most old folk in my youth were extremely lucid! There was the odd one with dementia, but nowhere near the numbers we have today!
So what is the cause???
As a sufferer of Lyme disease, I did tons of research, and it was extremely rare in humans before the mid 1970's, so rare it was thought to be odd at the time as it's an animal disease. Unheard of in bovines btw!
The timing suggests reduction in sodium intake! At the time it started to take off was when we were being advised to cut down on our salt intake by the medical profession!
I wonder how many other "modern diseases" can be attributed to diet changes, sugar substitutes, oil instead of fats to cook in etc etc!
